Getting off the ground
June 6, 2021 0 Comments

Well, it’s been a couple of months, but I’m still setting up the website. These things never go as fast as you want, and it has to take a back seat to my publishing deadlines.

What have I been up to? Well, quite a bit, although a lot of it feels like I’ve been treading water.

I’ve got a new logo, isn’t she great? I came up with a (very rough) concept image, and DAZED designs did an awesome job of squaring it up into the logo. It’s kind of a represenation of me and my crazy brain with a billion and one story ideas floating around inside. Ok, maybe not a billion, but I do have over 180 google docs and four or five notbooks of hand written ideas. I think she’s gorgeous, and I’m thrilled to bits with her.

Let’s see, I’ve launched two new books very close together. “Civil Contempt” book 3 of my Of Magic and Contempt series went live on May 24th, and Stellar, the first book of my Portal series went live on June 4th. Yes, it was a tight turnaround. No, I didn’t realise I had them scheduled so close until after I’d done it.

I’ve also had some health issues and spent a week in hospital with “PUO” – pyrexia of unknown origin, or just really high temperatures and we don’t know why. It was eventually put down to a gastro virus (despite there being no gastro), mostly because my liver was really, really unhappy. I had so many scans and tests I’m sure I could glow in the dark. Anyway, with a massive amount of antibiotics and antivirals we managed to get things turned around and I’m back to my usual unfit self, lol. (No, it wasn’t corona).

My middle child had his birthday, and because Australian restrictions allowed it (due to our low infection rate) we were able to have a birthday party with 30 kids!!!!! It was chaos, but a lot of fun, and there were tears when it was time to go home. I’m taking that as a sign of a good party. My other two children have birthdays only a week apart, and they’re coming up soon, so lots of cake planning and careful gift choosing to come. Little Miss 4 wants makeup, bless her, and Master 12 wants a particular game for our nintendo. That will be pending getting all his homework done.

I’ve also signed up with AMR Author Promotions to represent my writing, and I’m really happy with how everything is going. Andrea and the team are really professional and efficient and it’s good to be able to hand over a lot of the social media stuff and turn my focus back to writing.

I’m currently learning JavaScript coding to help my eldest son with his homework. I have to say, it’s a lot of fun (not for him because it’s homework, lol), but it’s been a great bonding thing when we finally work something out together. Who knows, I might be looking back at this one day and thinking about how his career began. (Hey, I’m a mum, I can dream, right?)

My next book is the second one in the Portal series – “Supernova“, and the third one is coming right behind it – “Black Sun“. This is a rapid release series, because the books are shorter than my usual sagas. They’ll be about 50 to 60 thousand words each. It’s a new area for me to write in, although still reverse harem. Instead of it being my usual paranormal romance, the first book is urban fantasy, but the series is definitely a space opera/sci-fi series. I can’t wait to share it with you.

I have stories across many tropes, almost all of them are reverse harem, although there are a few that are menage or even more traditional m/f relationships. Is there a trope that you would like me to write in? Why not pop a comment down and let me know? Thanks for reading.

Jade
xoxo
